WBBA 50/50 World Series Cash Raffle
Each year on the first Saturday of the Major League Baseball World Series, the WBBA holds a cash raffle to support local scholarships for the following year. Along with a ticket into the 50/50 drawing, each ticket holder is entitled to free beer during the duration of the game. The local baseball community comes together in a night of Wisconsin’s two favorite pastimes, baseball and beer…all in support of a good cause..

The West Bend Baseball Association provides two $1000 scholarships to eligible West Bend East and West Bend West baseball student athletes. To raise money for the scholarships, the West Bend Baseball Association raises money by running a 50/50 cash raffle during the MLB Playoffs and World Series.

Each Men’s Amateur Adult Baseball team along with directors of the West Bend Baseball Association sell tickets to the nightly event from June through the event in October. Each ticket sole sold gets that ticket holder into drawing for the 50/50 cash prizes that are pulled after each inning of play, but also gets them tickets for free beer during the duration of the game.

The event is held at a local establishment in West Bend.

To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant must be a current member of the West Bend East and West Bend West Baseball teams, must be in good academic standing, and without an athletic violation. Each applicant will be required to fill out an application, then have an interview in front of the West Bend Baseball Association Executive Board, and directors. Each winner is announced during the West Bend High School’s Senior Athletic Awards Ceremonies.

In total the WBBA has given out over 40 scholarships since 2003.
